On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock allegedly opened fire from his 32nd floor hotel room at the MGM owned Mandalay Bay resort. According to media reports, he fired more than 1,000 rounds. MGM CEO James Murren sold ~80% of his stock less than a month before the shooting - nearly 300,000 shares at a value of $34.0779 (there were two sales one day apart).
